<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify"> Dan is active in business and commercial law, estate and business planning, real estate, litigating civil matters, and advocating for creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. He has experience representing business clients ranging from banks to farms and dairies, and from cities to telephone companies and commercial toy and novelty distributors.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify"> Dan grew up in Kansas, earning his undergraduate degree from Fort Hays State University. He served four years in the U.S. Navy in San Diego before returning to Kansas to pursue graduate studies at the University of Kansas School of Law.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify">While in law school he served as an intern for the Paul E. Wilson Defender Project. Dan was also a staff member for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy which published his article on security interests in farm products. Kan. J.L. &amp; Pub. Pol’y, Winter, 1999, at 342.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify">He is a member of the Kansas and Franklin County Bar Associations, and a former President of the latter.  Before joining Green &#038; Finch, he managed his solo practice for a time, after being a partner at Anderson &#038; Byrd.  He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Central Christian College, Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, and for Kiwanis of Ottawa. He is licensed to practice in all courts in Kansas, as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify">Dan authors and manages <a title="Kansas Business Attorney" href="http://dancovington.com/kansas-business-attorney">Kansas Business Attorney</a>, where he reviews business law, banking and commercial law of interest to Kansas attorneys, bank clients and small business clients. </p>
